Microsoft Research Soap pointing devicePatrick Baudisch is a research engineer at Microsoft Research with a lot of cool stuff to his name. He and two of his colleagues wrote a paper about putting the electronics of an ordinary optical mouse inside a fluffy pouch and triggering the sensor by squeezing and pushing the optical electronics around as you would with a wet bar of soap. The results are interesting.
